Marselino is one of Indonesia’s brightest prospects, showcasing his talent at the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ as well as the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™, on top of playing a huge role in taking the Garudas into the third round of the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road To 26™.
“I’m thrilled and still can’t believe I’m here,” said Marselino in a club statement. “Being the first Indonesian-born player to play in the Championship – if selected – fills me with immense pride.
“I won’t take this opportunity for granted, and I’ll give 100% to make the most of it. My message to everyone is to keep supporting the team and know that I’ll do my best to compete and represent this club.”
Meanwhile, Japan women international Hikaru Kitagawa has joined Swedish side BK Hacken, the 27-year-old left-back’s first stint outside of Japan having previously played for Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies and INAC Kobe Leonessa.
Kitagawa, who featured in the recent Paris Olympics, is the first Japanese to sign for the club.
In the Saudi Pro League, Al Riyadh had a busy day with the capture of Brazilians Lucas Kal from Athletico-GO and Toze from Al Hazem while Reda Al Abdallah moved on loan to Al Fayha from Al Ettifaq.
Elsewhere, full-back Milad Mohammadi has joined Persepolis FC, Hanoi FC signed Nigerian striker Augustine Chidi Kwem, Qatar SC secured the services of Egyptian Ahmed Abdekader on loan while J1 League outfit Shonan Bellmare added 30-year-old striker Luiz Phellype to their squad.
